1st Meeting of the Charter Commission

The first meeting of the Raytown Charter Commission was held on April 29th at 6:30 pm. Jim Aziere served as temporary chair until Steve Guenther was elected chairman. Jason Greene was elected vice chair and Lisa Emerson was elected secretary. The office of treasurer was not filled. Susan Dolan’s motion (the use of the word motion will be used liberally and possibly incorrectly) to wait until Sandra Wood-Hartwell was present failed.  Greg Walter’s motion to not have officers elected by secret ballot failed, and Susan Dolan’s motion to have a sergeant-at-arms also failed.

There was discussion on how to make videos of the meetings available to the public. RaytownOnline.com has offered to make videos of any meetings we attend available to the public by attributable common commons licence and make a DVD for the City of Raytown to broadcast for the citizens that do not have internet access but do have cable tv access. During the discussion on the topic Susan Dolan said that she knew Professional Videographers that she could contact for a proposal.  The resolution of the discussion was to take whatever RaytownOnline.com was willing to do for free.

The Commission has decided to meet twice a month on the 2nd and 4th Monday in City Hall at 6:30 pm.  That makes the next meeting May 12th.

As always this video is best view in full screen mode with the resolution set at 720. The default viewing inside the post is about 1/4 the actual available resolution. The sound had to be enhanced to allow for the low volume levels of some speakers. My apologies for some of the noise in the first 60 seconds, adjustments to the tripod were picked up by the microphone.
