City Administrator’s Report
FROM: Mahesh Sharma, City Administrator
The Missouri Department of Transportation (MODOT) is developing an environmental study of I-70 from The Paseo interchange to the Blue Ridge Cutoff interchange. From July 26th to August 17th, MODOT will be talking to the community about the initial improvement alternatives that could fix the transportation issued facing the highway. Your input will help to refine the initial alternatives. Visit www.metroli70.com to share your thoughts. You can also talk to with MODOT in person at their “Mobile Meetings” on either August 7th, at the Highway 40 Wal-Mart, from 4:00 to 6:00pm or August 17th, at The Museums at 18th and Vine – Atrium, also from 4:00 to 6:00pm.
The Missouri Department of Transportation (MODOT) has notified the city that Route 169 from just north of the Wheeler Downtown Airport to Route 9 will be closed beginning tomorrow, July 14th, through mid-December. The closure provides MODOT crews to make repairs to the east retaining wall for the northbound lanes, repairs to the southbound lanes and address the drainage between the lanes. Motorists will have access to Wheeler Airport via the Broadway Bridge or Harlem Road. The Heart of America (Route 9) and Bond (I-35, I-29 and Route 71) Bridges are the closest alternate routes.
