800 lb. Sculpture Stolen from design store

Raytown Police responded to a popular home design store at 83rd Street and Westridge this morning (09-01-2011) around 10:00 a.m. A landmark of the business, an 800 lb. solid bronze Eagle sculpture was stolen from the property outside of the building. There were no witnesses to the crime, however, the statue arrived at a down town scrap yard yesterday (08-31-2011) in pieces brought in by a man in an older white Chevy van. The scrap yard was able to capture pictures of the man and the van on video surveillance. The Raytown Police would appreciate the community’s assistance in the identification of the man displayed in the surveillance photos.
