Aldermen approve participation in Missouri neighborhood stabilization program

Aldermen approved participation in Missouri neighborhood stabilization program by a vote of 8 to 2.  The program would fund rehabbing blighted housing in Raytown.

The debate on this agenda item was heated and at times even loud. Hopefully the squabble was a result of the opposition to the item not understanding how the program would work and what the goals were, and the supporters of the item not understanding what the oppositions meaning and intent were. That is the kindest possible interpretation of the words  used by both sides.
