Argument at Restaurant Results in Car Chase and Accusation of RobberyPolice took a report early Saturday morning (04/23/2011) that was classified as an attempted robbery of a fast food restaurant at MO 350 Hwy. and Hunter. Apparently, an argument broke out among customers in the parking lot when one car bumped another in the drive through line. The occupants of the front car got out and a disturbance ensued. The manager then ordered the disputants to leave the property. One of the customers got angry, and demanded his money back from the restaurant. When that customer was again ordered off of the property, he tried to crawl through the drive through window, knocking things out of the way and fighting with employees in what employees believed was an attempt to get at the cash register drawer. At the sound of approaching police sirens, the customer returned to vehicle and fled the scene on MO 350 Hwy. An Officer located the suspect vehicle just east of the city limits and tried to stop it. The driver led police on a circuitous, high-speed chase during the early morning hours that ended near Cleveland Ave. and Blue Parkway in Kansas City, MO. The 20 year-old Kansas City man was arrested for outstanding warrants and license violations. Requests for charges stemming from the car chase or incident at the restaurant will be presented to a prosecutor. No injuries were reported.
