Bark In the Park returns

This is the ROC Fitness Center’s second year of hosting this event at Henry C. Kritser Park, at 75th & Westridge in Raytown from 9 a.m.–1 p.m on Sat. Sept. 10th. Bark in the Park will be a fun and FREE event for the whole family! Participants will start with a beautiful walk through the park with their canine companion. Then also have a chance to browse vendor tents, watch exciting demonstrations, grab a treat from Sheridan’s Custard and participate in Pet Contests such as Best Tail Wag, Best Costume, Bark & Howl, Wackiest Dog Trick, Best Kisser, and Peanut Butter Eating Contests!

From 9:30 – 10:30, KC Wolf will make an appearance and sign autographs.

If your interested, here is some background on how this event came about:

The ROC Fitness & Recreation center is an outreach ministry of First Baptist Raytown. Most of our ministry however, is inside our walls. We decided that we wanted to do some more Outreach from the “Recreation Outreach Center”. Because we are all dog lovers, and know how people really come together through their pets, we decided to try a dog walk event last year. It went pretty well considering that we had never done anything like that before! We hope to keep doing this every year, making each year better than the one before! Our hopes are that people will see the love of Christ through our representation and be inspired to keep physical wellness a part of their lives. Whether it is through the ROC or not, having a physically fit community will lead to a better community for us all, and to have a spiritually fit community will benefit the world.
