House Fire in area of 70th terrace and Hedges

A house fire in the area of 70th terrace and Hedges Thursday evening has left a local woman hospitalized in critical condition and cost the lives of her pets.

Lost Dog

Scrappy was lost Saturday, June 20. He is 10+ years old and has survived a lot in his lifetime including a house fire.  The family had just brought home a new puppy a few days before and she started to stray from the (fenced) yard. Scrappy went after her (we believe) and the two have not been seen since. The new puppy is Small blue/grey/silver boxer mix w floppy ears about 6-8 months old her tail is long her name is Mary.

His home is in the area of 87th and Blue Ridge. There is a $50 reward for him also.

Here are some pictures of him. Thank you so much for helping us get the word out. He means a lot to his family.

Lost Dog (Elliot) has been re-united with owner

Updated

The formerly lost dog now known as Elliot has been re-united with his owner. The article was posted to the facebook side of RaytownOnline.com and within a few hours 2,107 people viewed the post, one of them being the worried owner.  The owner contacted RaytownOnline.com, we emailed their contact information to the finder, and that which was lost is now found.  This was the fastest viral Facebook post this publication has been part of.  Other posts may have hit a higher total, but only after week, not hours. It speaks well of the readers, who pay more attention to the needs of a pet, than the news of a bank robbery. I am pleased.

Sit Means Sit – at Bark in the Park 2013

The “Sit Means Sit” dog trainers gave a nice performance of their dogs doing tricks.  When questioned about training cats, the replay was “no cats, husbands of wifes, just dogs.”
