Staff has completed negotiations with Mindmixer to implement Engage Raytown. This online program will allow residents a platform to engage and connect with the City of Raytown. More information will be available as we approach a middle of February launch of the program.

Staff has begun developing the Spring/Summer Newsletter which will include a Program Guide for the Parks and Recreation Program. Advertising through the Park’s 501-3 (c) designation will begin next week for their program guide. Anyone interested in advertising should contact Dave Turner at 358-4100 or davet@raytownparks.com.

Kansas City is one of five metro areas chosen by the Pfizer Foundation to study options that may be considered to help build a community for all ages. Raytown is one of only four communities chosen to participate in the Kansas City study. Cathy Boyer-Shesol, KC Communities for All Ages Project Manager, at Mid America Regional Council (MARC) will give a presentation on the KC Communities for All Ages initiative at the January 21, 2014 Board of Aldermen meeting. The work of the KC Communities for All Ages initiative focuses on five major areas: housing, transportation and mobility, civic and social engagement, caregiving, and health care. The study stems from the local work done on two books entitled “Communities for All Ages Idea Book” and “Making Your Community Work for All Ages Tool Kit”, which can be used by individual communities to make themselves more age friendly. Both books are available on line at:
