As a reminder, City Hall will be closed on Monday, February 18, 2013 in observance President’s Day. Normal business will resume at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 19.
Public Works
Public Works opened bids for the Downtown Streetscape Project Friday at 2:00 p.m. There were 6 bids submitted. Public Works will review the bids and will provide a brief update on the apparent low bidder at the Board of Aldermen meeting set for Tuesday, February 19. Staff expects to bring the construction contract to the Board of Aldermen on Tuesday, March 5 for consideration of approval.
Public Works has been notified by Batliner Recycling that they will no longer pickup the recyclable materials due to inadequate volume. Batliner will continue to pick up the recyclable material through March. Public Works is searching to locate another vendor that is willing to provide the containers and collect the recyclable materials.
The warmer than usual weather has allowed Public Works to perform asphalt repairs this week. The asphalt crew was able to place 12 tons of asphalt this week.
The Raytown Water Company’s downtown waterline replacement project made more progress this week. The construction company still has a significant amount of work to complete and expects to be installing waterline for the next several weeks.
