Wal-mart Neighborhood Market: As part of a submitted application proposing to change the CBD Design Standards Overlay District and the Town Square Overlay District to Planned Development District for property located in the 6200 block of Blue Ridge Blvd. on which the grocery store is proposed, city staff and staff from the Raytown Fire Protection District have received and begun review of the preliminary site development plan for this development. The specific date at which the rezoning application and preliminary site development plan will come before the Planning & Zoning Commission and Board of Aldermen has not yet been determined.

Staff received and began the review of a site development plan for the NewZroom Café that is proposed to open in an existing building located at 6020 Blue Ridge Blvd. The site plan proposes construction of a parking lot, outdoor seating area, storm water bio swale and other site improvements.

The City along with the Raytown Fire Protection District and Jackson County Health Department gave approval for the Burger King restaurant to re-open for business on Thursday, March 7th after having been closed for several months due to a fire. Some weather dependent and minor remodeling work remains to be completed. These repairs are scheduled to be completed over the next few weeks.

Rock Island Corridor: The draft concepts developed from input at the January public workshop for each of the five activity centers along the Rock Island Corridor, including downtown Raytown, are now available for comment. Your feedback is useful as it will help to develop one preferred concept for downtown Raytown as well as each of the other activity centers. A draft report will then be released in late Spring for review.
