Police
The construction of the tower behind City Hall is complete. The contractor has almost completed the installation of Verizon’s equipment on and around the tower. Motorola is scheduled to be out next week to review and update the timeline for the installation of our radio equipment on the tower.
 
EMS
Community Blood Center is the primary supplier of blood for local hospitals and has been serving Missouri and Kansas hospitals for almost 50 years. Community Blood Center needs to collect 580 pints of blood every day and over 140,000 pints annually to meet the needs of our local hospitals. An individual within the area that Community Blood Center serves needs a blood transfusion every 4 minutes.
You have the opportunity to do your part for local hospital patients at the next Community Blood Center blood drive held at Raytown EMS in the training room, 10020 E. 66th Terrace on Wednesday, August 28th from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. To make an appointment online go to www.esavealifenow.org and use sponsor code raytownems. You may also contact Kim at 816-737-6030. Anyone coming to the blood drive to donate blood will be given a chance to win a trip for 4 to Disney World. By registering online, you will be entered a second time for the drawing.
 
Public Works
Google Fiber has 4 utility contractors that continue to work in Raytown installing the new conduit along Blue Ridge Cutoff, 63rd Street, Raytown Trafficway, Raytown Road and 67th Street.
The White Oak West Line A sanitary sewer project along 83rd Street from Raytown Road to Spring Valley Road had a pre-construction meeting on Tuesday, August 13, 2013. Work by Linaweaver Construction is planned to begin in early September.
Bids were opened on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 for the annual overlay project. Work for the project is planned for the months of September and October.
Bids were opened on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 for the annual light weight aggregate seal project. Project work is planned for the months of September and October.
