The office of economic development at RaytownCity Hall has received three responses to its request for proposal (RFP) to develop an approximate 3.4 acre property owned by the city in downtown Raytown. The property is located at 6200 Blue Ridge Boulevard and is bounded by East 62nd Street on the north, Raytown Road on the west and Blue Ridge Boulevard on the east. The responses received are from Flaherty & Collins in Indianapolis, Indiana, Carr Baier Crandall (CBC Real Estate Group) in Kansas City, Missouri and from the Raytown Main Street Association.
The RFPs will be reviewed by city staff within the next 60 days. City staff will then present the proposals and staff recommendations to the Board of Aldermen. Proposals will be available to the public after the Board of Aldermen have reviewed them per Missouri State Statute 610.021 (2) dealing with the sale of real estate.
The RFPs were initiated by the City of Raytown in September to gauge interest in developing the property after a previous plan for a Neighborhood Market grocery store from Walmart Corporation pulled their plan off the table.
