Jim Lynch receives the 2011 Clarence M. Kelley Award

At the annual Kansas City Crime Commission Awards luncheon today, a surprised Jim Lynch, Raytown’s Police Chief was called upon to receive the 2011 Clarence M. Kelley Award. The award, named after the former Kansas City Police Chief and FBI Director recognizes “an active law enforcement administrator in metropolitan Kansas City who is an excellent administrator, proactive in their approach and dedicated to improving the criminal justice system. One who continues Mr. Kelley’s legacy by providing exemplary performance, which is influential in raising the standards of leadership.”

Braymer Police Chief Brandon Kehl, the chairman of the Kansas City Chapter of ASIS International said “We are fortunate to have the outstanding caliber of leadership and professionalism within the area’s law enforcement community…and the Greater Kansas City Chapter of ASIS is privileged to honor him with this award.” The award was presented at the luncheon today before a crowd of metropolitan police and sheriff’s executives, corporate executives and crime commission members and supporters.

Chief Lynch is a 36 year veteran of the Raytown Police Department and has served as the City Marshal and Police Chief since April of 2001.
