Lonzo Echols Arrested for firing 18 shots into a Raytown apartment

Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced Saturday the filing of two (2) felony Unlawful Use of a Weapon charges against Lonzo Echols, 24, of Independence.

According to court documents, the victim was in his apartment at 87th and Utopia in Raytown on February 10, 2011 when he had a confrontation with Echols, who was armed with a black revolver. Victim heard a gunshot and discovered a bullet in his ceiling.

Yesterday(July 15th 2011), in the early morning hours, the same victim was asleep in his same apartment when he heard gunshots and then saw bullets coming through one of his windows. 18 bullets holes were found. Echols was observed driving away from the apartment. Echols was detained and an SKS assault rifle was found near his vehicle. The SKS magazine was empty.

In the investigation of the Feb. 10th shooting, it was revealed that the victim and Echols both worked for the same employer and dated the same woman.
