Luis Solano-Barrera sentenced to 15 years

Luis Solano-Barrera aka Luis Solano-Gallardo was sentenced to 15 years in prison this afternoon on two counts of involuntary manslaughter related to the traffic fatalities on the 4th of July. Victims in the case were Diane K. Bronson and her 11-year-old daughter, Anna.

Judge Charles McKenzie sentenced Solano-Barrera to two prison terms of 15 years, to be served concurrently.

True Identity of drunk in fatal accident now known

Jackson County prosecutors have amended charges against a man known as Felix Solano-Gallardo in connection with the July 4th traffic fatality that killed a Belton, Mo., woman and her daughter, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.

 With the help of federal immigration officials, Kansas City police have determined the defendant’s actual identity is Luis Solano-Barrera, 23. Charges were amended Friday to name him in connection with the July 4th deaths. Solano-Barrera faces two Involuntary Manslaughter 1st Degree charges.

 Court records filed state the defendant alcohol level was more than two times the legal limit two hours after the deadly accident. Witnesses told police that he was driving the wrong way on Interstate 435 the morning of July 4, when he collided with a vehicle driven by Diane K. Bronson. Her daughter was a passenger. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker today announced the filing of two felony counts of Manslaughter against a man in connection with today’s double-fatality wreck on Interstate 435.

Authorities believe the man’s name is Felix Solano Gallardo, 18. But they are still attempting to confirm his identity. The man said he lives in Kansas City, Kan., but that also has not been confirmed.

He will face two counts of Involuntary Manslaughter for driving, under the influence of alcohol, the wrong way on Interstate 435, causing an accident that claimed the lives of a Belton mother and her daughter. His blood alcohol tested .185, above the legal limit, two hours after the accident, according to court documents

A $500,000 cash-only bond has been requested.
