Michala Wood signs a Letter of Intent

At 2:30 PM November 17th one of Raytown High School’s best athletes signed a Letter of Intent to play for Missouri Southern State University. The event was attended by Michala’s parents, coaches, and a large number of her friends.

Here is what her coach Warren Strickland said about Michala.

Michala is the best all-around player that I have coached to this point in my short career. To have a player selected to the All-Conference team 4 times and All-District team 3 times is going to be the hardest thing for me to replace. Michala was a player that improved each year and did the little things outside of practice to make her the outstanding player she became. She definitely saved her best for last stat wise, during her Senior year.

Michala compiled the following stats:

AB Runs Hits 2B 3B HR HBP BB SAC SO RBI  AVG   SBA CS SB
86  25     46    7    2    5      2      8     0     7    14    0.535  9      1   8

Michala will be missed by RHS, but it’s time for her to continue her softball career at the next level. She will be an outstanding college player and more importantly she will continue to be a great person.
