Person Barricaded in Residence

Raytown, Missouri– Raytown Police responded to a call of shots fired in the 5500 block of Sterling Thursday, 04-14-11, at about 1:40 P.M. Police had prior contact with the resident there and they were concerned. The man barricaded himself in the house when Police tried to talk to him. The Raytown Police SWAT team and the Raytown Police Hostage Negotiation team were called to the scene. The United States Marshals Service also came to the scene and told Police they had a warrant to arrest the man for a Federal parole violation. Negotiators talked to the man and convinced him to leave the house and surrender to SWAT Officers. The incident ended peacefully without injury. The SWAT Team found the man’s family safe inside the house. The United States Marshal Service took custody of the man. His name has not been released.
