Pumpkins on Parade

Raytown Three Trails Kiwanis

News Release for Raytown Online September 6-10

Pumpkins on Parade – Release # 1

The Raytown Three Trails Kiwanis Club and Cave Spring Park are very excited to invite you to participate in the 1st Annual Pumpkins on Parade community event.  We’re looking for businesses, youth groups, organizations and schools to join us on October 23, 2010 from 4:30 to 9:00 p.m.  at Cave Spring Park.  As you walk the trails, you’ll “ooh” and “aah” over the carved pumpkins tucked along the path, in the trees, and on rock ledges.  As you return from your walk through the woods, you’ll be welcomed with games for the kids and the aroma of freshly made kettle corn, cotton candy, hot dogs and cider.

Your business, school, or organization can participate by being a Great Pumpkin Sponsor, a Pumpkin Carver, or both!  Great Pumpkin Sponsors – For a $100 donation Great Pumpkin Sponsors will be listed on the trail map given to all participants and you will have a pumpkin carved by graphic artists with your business logo prominently displayed at the beginning of the trail.  Pumpkin Carvers – As a Pumpkin Carver, you conjure up your creativity and carve a pumpkin for the trail.  Your group will be listed on the trail map and your pumpkins are easily located as viewers wander the trails.  If you’re participating as a business, you can provide your own pumpkins or purchase them at Cave Spring Park on Saturday, October 16th.  If you are a not-for-profit group, you may pick up donated pumpkins at Cave Spring Park on Saturday, October 16th.  Individual Pumpkin Carver entries are also available.

Please join us as we look forward to a wonderful opportunity for our community to celebrate fall, fun, fellowship, family and the natural beauty of our own Cave Spring Park.  Invite your family and friends.

Sponsorship and entry forms can be downloaded at www.raytownkiwanisclub.org or www.cavespring.org.  For more information contact:  Elaine Schulze at 816-356-1625 or Mary Lee Skitek at 816-353-8491.
