Rachel Williams-Chase has been named Support Staff Employee of the Year for the Raytown School District



Rachel Williams-Chase has been named the Raytown School District Support Staff Employee of the Year for 2013-2014.  Williams-Chase is an accompanist at Raytown South High School.

 A colleague called Williams-Chase irreplaceable, and a person who fulfills a role way beyond that of the job assigned to her. A former colleague calls Williams-Chase a “great supporter of academic and personal student needs, one whose professional demeanor and conduct are second only to her skills and expertise.”

 Currently serving in her third year in the District, Williams-chase thanked judges and those gathered for the announcement for the opportunity to represent the District as the Support Staff Employee of the Year.

 “I am very blessed to be able to work doing something that is my passion and interest,” William-Chase said.

 According to the judges, Williams-Chase seems to go above and beyond what might be expected of someone in an accompanist job, playing music for students between classes, creating arrangements for groups of singers, even conducting music for the school’s musical.  The judges 

The judges also noted her positive energy, and they believe being around students and drawing from their energy is what pushes Williams-Chase to the forefront.  Williams-Chase’s principal calls her a “kind, gentle person who is good for the students at South High.”called Williams-Chase passionate, articulate and enthusiastic in her interview.

 In a letter of reference from a parent, Williams-Chase was described as the one who will permanently change the expectations of the job of accompanist due to her willingness to go above and beyond what is expected.

 Williams-Chase will be one of the featured speakers at the district’s annual back to school Convocation.
