Raytown Announces Hall of Fame Induction, Class of 2012

The Raytown School District will host its annual Hall of Fame Induction Weekend on October 5 and 6.  Six Raytown Schools’ graduates will be honored by the District for their excellence in vocation and for their positive representation of the school district.

The class of 2012 will have six members.  Rhiannon Albertson Ally, Raytown South High School class of 1999, is a broadcast journalist in Florida and is the anchor for the CBS morning show in Miami, formerly at KCTV 5 here in Kansas City.  Ally also hosted Better TV’s syndicated entertainment show.

Dixie Kepley Arnold, Raytown High School class of 1960, is an educator at Vanguard University in California.   She is a former elementary school teacher.

Howard L. Bell, Jr., Raytown High School class of 1950, is a retired Raytown School District educator.  He was the first Coordinator of Music for the Raytown School District.

Tony Lowe, Raytown South High School class of 1970, is a pilot and an Accredited United States diplomat.  His service includes time in Operation Desert Storm.

Dr. Robert Jones, Raytown High School class of 1964, is a retired physician and surgeon. He is the founder of Jackson County Orthopedics.

Jann Wynn, Raytown South High School class of 1970, is the founder of Wynn Twins School of Dance. She has been a professional dancer and choreographer for over 35 years.

Inductees will begin their activities by visiting both high schools on Friday, October 5 starting at Raytown High School and moving to Raytown South High School.  Community members and school district officials will greet inductees at a luncheon at the Raytown Schools Education and Conference Center at 11:00, and in the afternoon, inductees will visit schools of their choice to talk to students and staff.  Friday evening the inductees will be recognized at the Raytown vs. Raytown South football game.

On Saturday, October 6, inductees will be the guests of the Raytown Historical Society at 9:30 for a tour and continental breakfast, and will greet visitors.  An invitation only ceremony will conclude events at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Raytown.
