Raytown Arts & Music Festival

raytown parks logoRaytown Arts & Music Festival will take place on October 20, from 11am to 6pm at C. Lee Kenagy Park, 79th & Raytown Rd. This is an Arts in the Park event sponsored by Raytown Parks, Friends of Raytown Parks, Rotary Club of Raytown and Saber Cycle. We hope this event will be the beginning of a new Raytown tradition.Bring your lawn chairs and come listen to some of the best music talent in the region. From the top reigning Blues band in KC, Linda Shell & Blues Thang, to Jah Lion’s Jamaican Reggae to KC Kelsey’s AFU Blues band. Enjoy the fresh new sound of Algo de Nova’s classical guitar and percussion influenced by Afro-Cuban rhythms, Turkish doubek and traditional Spanish guitar. The Monarchs forge a melting pot of genres together, ranging from the phrasing of jazz and blues to the pure raw passion of grunge. Our repertoire includes classic rock of The Guess Y & Friends and ends with the djembe drum circle of the KC Drum Tribe.Come support your local artists and artisans by bringing their original works of art into your home to enjoy for years to come. Visit our webpage to view their portfolios using a variety of mediums: graphite, oil, watercolor, photography, jewelry, metal sculpture and even henna tattoos. Spray paint artist, Paul Suturis, will demonstrate his skill creating beautiful landscapes on a large canvasdav. Walking among you in the park will be roaming actors and singers from the Raytown Arts Council, known for their annual production of our summer musicals. Artists will be able to connect with the Raytown Artists Association who will have a booth displaying their member’s works of art. Kids can also look forward to art projects sponsored by Raytown PTA Reflections. Nancy’s Kids Parties will have a booth selling creative face painting, glitter tattos and balloon art and we’ll even have a representative of the magic arts, a magician.

Lutfi’s Fried Fish and Ritter’s Barbeque will be on site serving up some of the best food in Raytown. The Boy Scouts will sell popcorn tins for their annual fundraiser and Eden’s Acre will bring in homemade Amish products for sale.
