Raytown Lights Up

The Annual Holiday Lighting Ceremony at Pocket Park Kicks Off the Holidays

The City of Raytown , the Raytown Chamber of Commerce, Raytown Main Street Association and Raytown Quality Schools will be kicking off the holiday season  with the 2013 Annual Holiday Lighting Ceremony. The festivities will begin Friday at 5:45 p.m. on December 6, 2013 at the Pocket Park located at 63rd and Raytown Road.

The Mayor’s Christmas Tree will be turned on by Mayor David Bower with a holiday music performance from the Little Blue Singers. UMB Bank will host Santa along with music from the Raytown Community Band Flutes. Enjoy a free hayrack ride around downtown Raytown. The 1081 Club at 63rd and Blue Ridge Boulevard will host complementary cider and cookies. And the first 100 children will receive a free holiday craft kit. Santa’s elves will be there to help put them together.

Many of our downtown businesses will be hosting open houses and we encourage you to visit them. Happy Holidays!
