Raytown man charged in child abuse case

This is the second case in a row of abuse to children in Raytown.

A Raytown man has been charged in an alleged child sexual abuse case of a 14-year-old girl, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.

Steven L. Davis, dob: 3/26/1959, faces Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, two counts of Statutory Sodomy in the 2nd Degree, Possession of Child Pornography and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.

Davis, according to court records, the reporting party told police that the victim, born in January 2000, was touched inappropriately by Davis. During a forensic interview at Child Protection Center, the child confirmed the touching and Raytown police later searched and found numerous images of naked children in Davis’ home.

Prosecutors have requested a bond of $250,000.
