Raytown Murder Update

The suspect in custody has been charged with 1st Degree Murder and he has been identified as 42-year-old Falonzo Davis.  Mr. Davis has also been charged with armed criminal action. The victim has been identified as 30-year-old Steven L. Jones.

It is alleged that motivation was the victim keeping company with the shooters wife.

The following is alleged in the charges filed by the Jackson County Prosecutor.

Upon receiving a text message that the victim was driving the shooters wife and children to school, the shooter retrieved his gun from a local pawn shop. He then drove to his son’s school, arriving at 10:04 am and waited.  At 10:27 am the victim arrived in a vehicle with the shooters wife and son as passengers.  Mr. Davis sprinted to the victims car, there was a confrontation, the victim attempted to flee, but ran into a parked vehicle.

Mr. Davis then argued with his wife, until his son intervened.  At that point Mr. Davis walked over to the wrecked car, opened the driver’s door, shot Mr. Jones, put the gun and two clips on top of the car and waited for the police to arrive.
