Raytown Water Company is locating valves on all sides of the break to close that section off and route the water around the break. If this is successful, water service may resume in a matter of hours.
According to the President and General Manager of Raytown Water Co, Neal Clevenger, the broken main is one of the original pipe that was run from Leeds to Raytown in 1925 when his grandfather founded the company and Raytown was a small community of about 300 people. Mr. Clevenger was at the scene of the water break, organizing the efforts to fix the problem.
Photos and videos will be posted soon.
