Shepherd’s Center of Raytown Garden Tour and Luncheon

The Shepherd’s Center of Raytown Garden Tour and Luncheon will occur on Tuesday, June 21st, 2011. This is one of the most popular events for Shepherd’s Center of Raytown and makes the fourteenth year of highlighting homeowners with creative gardens and landscaping in the Raytown area.

Five homes will be featured with tour hours from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm and 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm. Cost is $10 for the tour.

Lunch will be served at Raytown Christian Church, 6108 Blue Ridge Blvd. from 12:00 to 2:00 pm for $5 person. The meal will consist of assorted sandwiches, salad, fruit, dessert and drink. Door prizes will be given away.

Tickets can be purchased at the Shepherd’s Center of Raytown office, 7900 Blue Ridge Blvd.(356-9000) or Raytown Hy-Vee Customer Service desk.

All proceeds from the annual Garden Tour and Lunch support life changing programs and services of Shepherd’s Center of Raytown for the older adults of the Raytown community. The Shepherd’s Center of Raytown offers many programs that enable older adults to discover opportunities for continuing intellectual, social, and spiritual growth. These programs include: Adventures in Learning, Exercise Group, Book Club, Bridge/Cards Group, Tai Chi Chih, and Stroke Support Group. In order to maintain the dignity and independence of older adults, Shepherd’s Center of Raytown also provides the following services: Meals on Wheels, Senior Companion/Respite Care, Telephone Reassurance, Handyman Repair and Wheels that Care transportation assistance.
