Simmons Homicide update

RAYTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

Subject: Homicide 7300 Block of Ash

Victim: Shukriyyah “Shu” Simmons

Date: 2/23/2010

This Press Release is in regard to the Metro Squad investigation of the Raytown homicide that occurred 2/23/10 in the 7300 block of Ash. The Metro Squad will be disbanding this evening, 3/1/10, and the Raytown Investigations Unit will continue with the investigation.

Details concerning the investigation cannot be released but it is believed that Shukriyyah Simmons may have known her killer; it is not believed to be a random incident. Ms. Simmons had a large family and many associates in the Kansas City area. Anyone with information is asked to call the TIPS Hotline (816-474-8477) or the Raytown Police Department, at 816-737-6020.
