Standoff Ends Peacefully, Man Found Shot

Raytown Police were called to a residence in the 10400 block of E. 78 Terrace on Saturday morning, 01-28-17, at about 4:10 am. regarding a disturbance. Officers arrived and contacted an adult female who said that a man had assaulted her then she shot at him with a gun and ran to a neighbor’s residence for help. She told police that she thought that the man had a gun also. The female was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Police attempted to contact the man at the residence, but no one would answer. Officers saw indications of movement from within the residence, but the man would not answer the door.

The Raytown SWAT and Crisis Negotiations Teams were called in to attempt to resolve the situation peacefully.

At about 9:25 am, SWAT officers made contact with the man inside the residence, without incident, but found that he had been shot. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment. Detectives continue to investigate and question those involved, so charges have not been filed yet.
