Jackson County prosecutors have amended charges against a man known as Felix Solano-Gallardo in connection with the July 4th traffic fatality that killed a Belton, Mo., woman and her daughter, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.

With the help of federal immigration officials, Kansas City police have determined the defendant’s actual identity is Luis Solano-Barrera, 23. Charges were amended Friday to name him in connection with the July 4th deaths. Solano-Barrera faces two Involuntary Manslaughter 1st Degree charges.

Court records filed state the defendant alcohol level was more than two times the legal limit two hours after the deadly accident. Witnesses told police that he was driving the wrong way on Interstate 435 the morning of July 4, when he collided with a vehicle driven by Diane K. Bronson. Her daughter was a passenger.
