Sutherlands has a huge sale on fruit every year right before Christmas. Apples, pears, and oranges are $0.69 a pound and bananas are $0.39 a pound. The also have low prices on nuts. This is always a great deal
A water main replacement project will reduce Raytown Road to one lane of traffic in various locations between 87th Street and Bannister Road during construction working hours from now through August 2017. Expect traffic delays and plan accordingly.
This project is being done by Kansas City, not either one of the water companies that service Raytown. Click HERE for more details on this project. Tuesday December 13th was the first day for filing for city office. Candidates that file on the first day have their place on the ballot determined by a lottery. Candidates filing after the first day are placed on the ballot in the order they file. So far there has not been a filing for the two year remaining term of Steve Mock in Ward 5.

Santa arrived to help get the lights going, choosing a nice red Raytown Firetruck instead of a sleigh. Santa then proceeded down the street to listen to a huge line of children wanting to make a few requests. Along the way he passed the tractor pulling the hayride. After the children have a talk with Santa, Frosty was waiting with a basket of candy.
The Raytown Community Band Flutes entertained the crowd gathered to talk to Santa.
Clark’s Appliances caught fire Thursday night at around 10 PM. Damages were significant and will result in the business being closed for at least a couple days. There were no injuries.
