About

Raytown Online was created to be a source of information for the Raytown community.  If you would like to help or have comments and suggestions, leave a comment or email editor@raytownonline.com .

The goal of this publication is to be both a small town newspaper and a reference source for Raytown and the greater area that consists of the Raytown School District.  The focus will be Raytown, and the demeanor will be civil.  If politics is discussed, it will be about that which directly effects Raytown. If comments are posted, they will not be personal attacks and they will be signed with a real name. There are other venues that allow uncivil  behavior, so if this is too tame, I suggest you seek them out.

To realize this goal will entail the efforts of more than one person.  We need people to cover school events, church events, local organizations, city government, local sports, crime, new businesses, profile existing businesses and organizations, help maintain a calendar of upcoming events of all types,  create a list of local resources, and work on articles about the history of Raytown.  That’s the short list. If you want a longer version,  send an email and we can discuss it over tea or coffee.

Organizations

If you have an organization that you would like to have listed, send an email to editor@raytownonline.com. I would suggest you include name, purpose, location and or phone, contact person,  website (if you have one), and a brief description.  We may be able to also give you a full page listing depending on time and nature of your organization.

Calendar

Raytown Online uses Google Calendar to keep track of events in Raytown.  If your organization also uses Google Calendar, your events can be added to our calendar automatically. If not, then you can submit them by sending the event name, time, date, location and a brief description to editor@raytownonline.com.
