UPDATE

From the Raytown Police Dept. Press release

Stealing tires then “burning rubber” through Raytown lands two thieves in jail

Raytown, Missouri – Raytown Police were called to investigate the report of a man stealing tires at a local car tire dealer in the 9800 block on 350 Hwy during the early afternoon on Thursday (02-23-2012). The man and his partner left in a Suburban full of new tires. Police spotted the Suburban and attempted to stop it. The Suburban fled from police and a short car chase ensued. The two thieves inside the Suburban stopped and then ran on foot opposite in directions through a busy neighborhood at 78th Terrace and Raytown Rd. Both were captured. One of the men, 42 year old Quincy Marchbanks from Kansas City, was arrested for multiple outstanding warrants. The driver of the Suburban was also arrested, but a decision about charges from the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office is still pending.

End of update

_______________________________________________________

A vehicle was stopped at about 1:30 PM today and suspects were apprehended. All the Raytown Police would state was that this was in response to a local larceny of a business. The chase ended just East of Raytown Road on 78th Terrace. It appears that there were at least 2 suspects, maybe more. The presence of police cars on 78th Street and the late arrival of a police car containing what appeared to be a suspect in the back seat may mean that at least 1 suspect fled North before being apprehended.

Again, all that was confirmed by a member of the Raytown Police Department at this time is that there was a larceny at a local business.  RaytownOnline.com was advised to check the Police information website tomorrow for more details.
