Raytown Charter Commission Second Meeting

The Raytown Charter Commission rescheduled their second meeting to Tuesday, May 13th due to the a conflict with the facility availability.  Present were Ted Bowman, Janet Emerson, Lisa Emerson, Jason Greene,  Steve Guenther, Sandra Hartwell, Charlotte Melson, Mark Moore, and Mary Jane Van Buskirk.  Jim Aziere, Susan Dolan, Michael McDonough, and Greg Walters were absent. This is actually the third meeting, as a there was a meeting the day before that failed to achieve a quorum, and only voted to reschedule the meeting.

The first task after the meeting was called to order was the Swearing in of Sandra Hartwell.

Gary Markenson formerly of the Missouri Municipal League gave a presentation on how to create a charter that was extremely informative.  That portion is shown below separate  from the full meeting and has enhanced audio, due to a backup recorder being placed on the podium.

Mark Moore is elected Treasurer by a vote of 8 to 0, with Mary Jane Van Buskirk abstaining.

The Commission passed rules allowing for public comment and setting time limitations on the comment period. Tasks were assigned to Commission members and the meeting adjourned.  For more details on the meeting, click HERE to view the unofficial meeting minutes.
